Final Table Deal
One of the more favourable situations in a poker game is when you find yourself at a final table and some of the other players want to make a deal. A deal means that everyone left in the game agrees that they will split the money at that time, and the final results will not play into how money each player gets. What poker strategies are there to handle this kind of situation?

This decision can be advantageous because you could end up with more money than you would have received if you ended up going out sooner than later. It can also cost you money, if you end up winning the event. Knowing when and how to make a final table deal is something every player should know, so you don’t get taken advantage of in the process.
There are different types of deals, and what qualifies as fair will depend on the stack size of the players. The easiest type is an even split deal. That’s where everyone gets an equal share of the remaining prize pool. That type of deal is only fair if the remaining players are close in stack sizes, and the final results could go any way.
The best deal is often one that’s figured out mathematically, and rewards each player based on the percentage of chips they have. They receive the same percentage of the combined prize pool, each getting their fair share. The problem with this deal is that the short stack will often will get less than the payout structure would pay them, so it doesn’t always work.
The other type of deal you may encounter is when someone tries to structure it themselves. These deals often only benefit the person trying to sell it, and are usually better left alone. If at any time in the deal process you don’t think you’re getting a fair shake, you should not agree to it.
Don’t let upset opponents sway you one way or another. And try to keep a deal to four players or less; the money is bigger when it’s down to four players, so you won’t have to share as much of the prize pool.
