Player Profile: Jocke ‘Ripcurl’ Treijs
One of Sweden’s top online poker tournament players is Jocke Treijs. You may know him as “Ripcurl”, which is the online poker moniker he uses at many of his favorite online poker rooms. He also goes by the user name of “TheBratKid” at other online destinations. Jocke lives in Oxelösund Sodermanlands Lan, Sweden, and has been posting poker tournament cashes consistently for over a year. Since last December he’s recorded hundreds of money finishes, almost on a daily basis.

Treijs has over 20 cashes of $10,000 or more in 2008, with his most recent notable cashes being a first-place finish in the PokerStars $109+R NL Hold’em event on October 19 for $32,202, and a first-place finish in the Titan Poker $50,000 GP Re-buy for another $13,000 on October 22. In the two days before that win Treijs won $11,375 and $7,000 in two different events on Bodog Poker and DoylesRoom. A couple of weeks before that he won another $12,258 with a first-place finish in the $40,000 Guaranteed FullTilt Poker Re-buy event.
In early 2008 Treijs made the final table in the PartyPoker $300k Guaranteed four times over a span of three months. He also had a second-place finish in the PartyPoker Sunday major for $34,400, and on the very same evening he had a seventh-place finish in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $22k. His online tournament poker winnings total $202,634.00, and he’s currently ranked 49th on the pocketfives.com online poker player rankings.
Treijs is a pure internet poker player. He has no cashes in any live events to date, and based on his recent cashes, he’s still dedicating most of his time to online tournaments. He plays numerous events every day and doesn’t seem to have any desire to take his game into the casinos. He’s been a regular on the pocketfives.com leaderboard, recently hovering around the 40th-place range of the leaderboard.
